Jiggling A.K.A. Self-Rebounding

2/1/2021

Adding self-rebounding into a self-treatment session should not be missed.  If you have no idea what this is continue on and check out the video below!

Jiggling is a technique to help your body release.  This is not only something we can do on a daily basis; it is something we need to feel daily!  The motion of jiggling uses the fluidity in your body to help release fascial tightness and it also creates more awareness of what you feel.  Your body contains more water than anything else and the rhythmic motion of this technique helps move around and release tension.
Jiggling can be done in silence or to a song with a beat.  It is free form expression to help you get out whatever is stuck and needs a shift.
(Voiceover is a bit on the quiet side, so you might need to turn the volume up.  There is also a description below on how to get going and a song suggestion with a great beat.)
Start with your feet hip width apart, remember to keep your knees unlocked, and think of the dolls Raggedy Ann and Andy.  Allow your arms to hang by your sides and keep your neck and head as loose as possible.  Begin with your knees and ankles, rhythmically bending and straightening them.  Allow this motion to create gentle movement through your entire body.  Begin to notice areas that have sensations, areas that move freely and areas that feel stiff.  Pay attention to your breath and breathe into areas of tightness.  As your stiff areas release, you will feel new motion moving through those areas and your whole body.  Let your body feel free to move as it feels.  Keep moving your ankles and knees, and as you continue jiggling allow your arms, neck and head to move around.
Keep letting go and allow yourself to move in any way that feels good.  Jiggle for as long as it feels good.
*Song suggestion to start with is Dinner at the Sugarbush by Brent Lewis.

"After my 4th pregnancy, I was experiencing quite a bit of what I thought was lower back pain.  Through working with Valerie I was able to think about the location and communicate where and when the pain really occurred.  While I occasionally experience some discomfort, the severity of my pain has diminished.  I have also been able to take away self-treatment techniques to awaken my neck and back muscles to alleviate some of my posture concerns."
